Build Information:

Here are the nose cone and body sections. Both sets of fins are made of plywood and will get covered with fiberglass like the wrapped body to allow the rocket to take an extra beating:

The inside of the nosecone. It's a molded fiberglass nosecone. The bulkplate was reinforced with epoxy and some extra wood pieces. A hole is available to add nose weight later:

Launch Pictures & Videos:
6/12/10 Launch:
First Launch of naked model. Lots of cockscrewing after launch ("That's not good" comment). Turned out that Rocksim was using a nose cone section of 2.67" for stability measurements instead of the 5.5" body diameter. Actual stability margin was 0.85(!!!) instead of 1.8 as thought. Nose weight to be added.

6/12/10 Launch:
After 20 minutes of trudging through waist high weeds and brush, through muddy ditches (the mud almost swallowed my shoe), the Pershing II made it back with no damage.

Trying to turn this rocket into something less white....time for painting. The paint scheme will be similar to the Pershing II missile on the cover of time magazine from 1983:

Luckily for me I stumbled upon an awesome vinyl decal website catering to rockets. StickerShock23.com is an amazing website. I highly recommend checking them out. Mark is a great guy to work with.

Here is the Pershing II decal link: http://stickershock23.com/PERSHING_1.html

Below are the application details:

Ready for NAR L2 Cert flight. Paint scheme finished - mostly custom (I ruined a few vinyl decals and decided to just go for a hand painted rocket). Added the two vertical conduits since it was a such a prevalent scale feature on the original rocket.
